The wheel underneath
Almost every new roulette game is built on the European wheel: numbers 1 to 36 plus a single zero, 37 pockets, and a house edge of 2.70% on standard bets. Inside bets (straight-up, split, street, corner, line) cover a few numbers and pay more; outside bets (red or black, odd or even, high or low, dozens, columns) cover many and pay less.
Lightning Roulette
Evolution launched Lightning Roulette in 2018. Each round, one to five numbers are struck with a random multiplier from 50x to 500x. A straight-up bet on a struck number pays the multiplier; on any other number it pays 29:1 instead of the usual 35:1. Outside bets pay as normal.
A worked number: a Tk 100 straight-up win on a plain number returns Tk 2,900 plus the stake, not Tk 3,500. You give up that difference on every ordinary win in exchange for the rare multiplier.
Quantum, Double Ball and jackpot wheels
- Quantum Roulette (Playtech): random multipliers on numbers, also with a reduced base straight-up payout.
- Double Ball Roulette (Evolution): two balls per spin. Straight-ups pay less per ball, outside bets need both balls to agree and so pay more, and a bet on both balls hitting the same number pays the top prize.
- Jackpot roulette: a side bet feeds a progressive jackpot; the main game is unchanged.
Each studio publishes the RTP per bet in the game's help screen. Read it there, since the blended figure assumes the rare big multipliers land at their average rate.
Playing a round
- Pick a chip value before the timer starts.
- Place bets inside the window, usually 15 to 20 seconds.
- Add a side bet only if it fits the budget you set.
- Wait for the multipliers or second ball, then the spin.
- Check your balance before the next round.
Staking
Flat betting, the same stake every round, keeps swings predictable. Keep side bets and multiplier chasing to a fixed small share of the session budget, for example 10%, and track them separately. Our table game tips cover limits in more detail.
